HARDWARE FOR HIGH SPEED IN 1973

Less extravagant claims for body-tilting and a more critical appraisal of aerospace technology characterize the high speed train scene in 1973. Despite French success with gas turbines, new designs based on diesel traction have been put forward--and with doubts about high speed current collection dispelled, a new generation of electric multiple units is on the way.
