PROGRAMMED TANK WASHING--A SENSIBLE DEVELOPMENT
A description is given of a new type of tank washing equipment, utilizing an automatic, fixed-in-place tank washing machine which, it is claimed, can save up to 60% of tank washing time. The theory behind the development of this machine, as well as descriptions of particular elements of the machine itself, are given. This machine is also adaptable to washing procedures during discharge of the cargo oil using the cargo itself as the washing agent, and this capability is briefly explained.
