ICE-BREAKING DRILLSHIP FOR ARCTIC EXPLORATION
A description is given of an icebreaking drillship which will be used for oil exploration in arctic sea areas. A totally new concept in icebreaking technology has been incorporated in the ship's design, and this Penumatically Induced Pitching System (PIPS) is fully explained. Other aspects of the ship's design, such as ecological essentials, government regulations, and crew and shipboard safety are included in the description.
