LINDE'S MULTI-VESSEL CARRIER FOR LNG
A containment system for the carriage of liquefied natural gas, based on vertical cylindrical pressure vessels, is described. The principal components of the system are cylindrical aluminum tanks which are vertically arranged in a honeycomb type pattern in the holds of the ship so as to make the most effective use of the available storage space. Construction of the pressure vessels, as well as their installation in the ship, are described. Insulation of the tanks, operation of the system during loading/unloading and transportation, and ship construction, are also included in the description.
