Dynamic EV charging on the way
The United Nations Climate Summit in September 2014 launched the Urban Electric Mobility Initiative, with plans for electric vehicles (EV) to account for 30% of all urban travel by 2030 and to make cities more accommodating for their use. There has been increasing interest in dynamic charging for vehicles on the move, with research on wireless power transfer in South Korea, New Zealand, and Europe. Drivers’ fear that their vehicles will run out of power between charging points has been a deterrent to EV adoption, and dynamic charging can help assuage that fear.
