DUAL FUEL ENGINES FOR LNG CARRIERS?

A dual-fuel diesel engine, to be used aboard LNG carriers, is described. The differences of a dual fuel diesel from a straight diesel engine are given and explained. A description of a dual fuel diesel engine used as propulsion machinery for a methane carrier is also given, with explanations of specific parts of the machinery, such as the control linkage, which regulates the amount of gas and liquid fuel going to the engine, and the scavenge air supply, also included in the description.
