Ice Torsion Moments on Four Leg Structure
The ice loads on the four leg structure were investigated numerically with the special Finite Difference program. In the research it was found out that the load on each of legs can be different both by the level and the direction in the same time moment during the process of interaction. So the torque can exist in this case. The goal of the work is calculation of torque and it variation in time in two possible scenarios: the structure freezes in ice, the structure is in moving ice. Influence on the phenomenon of the ice motion direction regarding the structure as well as the relative distance between the legs is considered. The results give possibility to design the structure strength more accurately.
