A new face at Thameslink
The London suburban rail network Thameslink is planning to introduce the next generation of electric multiple units. Trains have been undergoing testing in Germany, and one was presented at InnoTrans in Berlin. The trains are expected to arrive in the United Kingdom in the summer of 2015 for additional dynamic testing, eventually beginning revenue service in the spring of 2016. The Thameslink route uses tunnels through London to connect to both northern and southern suburbs. Work to increase capacity is ongoing.
