APPLICATION OF STREAM FUNCTION WAVE THEORY TO OFFSHORE DESIGN PROBLEMS
Presents several examples illustrating application of the system function wave theory tabulations to problems of preliminary offshore design. As an illustration of the application of the tabulations, examples are presented including: Water surface displacement, velocity and acceleration components and dynamic pressure components, Wave forces and moments on various vertical members of an offshore platform for normal wave incidence, Total wave forces and moments on an multi-legged platform for oblique wave incidence, and Wave forces on a horizontal cylinder for normal wave incidence. Other applications of the tables are discussed.
