Remote monitoring, management and control of on-train devices

This paper will discuss the topic of providing a high-availability network to electronic devices on rolling stock. A centralised server will be able to access the devices and communicate with them in order to query their state and provide remote control. The current status of remote access to electronic devices will serve as a starting point of the paper. Benefits to enabling high-availability, widespread connectivity will be covered and this will include a vision of what the future could hold. Finally a proposal will be put forward discussing how the vision can be achieved.
