"CIRCUMVESUVIANA": INTERCHANGE STATION WITH THE STATE RAILROAD
CIRCUMVESUVIANA: LA FERMATA DI COLLEGAMENTO CON LE FERROVIE DELLO STATO
The "Circumvesuviana" railroad in Naples, Italy, has created an interchange station between its own network and that of the State railways, in order to facilitate change of trains on the part of users and assist mobility over a metropolitan span of about 80 kms. In the article, a description is given of the various phases of construction of the work, which was carried out in normal and pre-stressed concrete structures astride a double railway transit, constituted by two old stone tunnels, without interrupting operation. The station has been equipped with the latest installations for the safety of railway operation and for the movement and information of users.
