Development of an Intelligent Transport System Ontology - Linking Applications and Technologies Across Different Transport Modes
This paper presents the current state of research in intelligent transportation systems (ITS) ontologies relying on recent results from the European Union (EU) funded research project T-TRANS. In particular, it first compares current approaches of structuring ITS. In a second step, the shortcomings of these approaches are discussed and the relationships of ITS concepts are demonstrated by linking ITS applications with technologies.
