Navigating Away from Moving Observer Journey Times: Atkins’ Application of TomTom Data to Evaluation
Any transport study can only strive to be as good as the data behind it, and so having reliable, robust and readily available data sources is the best foundation to any transport planning project. This paper considers the impact of readily available data sources, and focuses on an emerging form of journey time data - from global positioning system (GPS) devices - and how it has improved the quality of evaluation projects conducted by Atkins.
