C&S TREND IS TOWARD SIMPLER, STURDIER MORE RELIABLE EQUIPMENT

One strong trend in the communications and signal equipment area is development of products that not only provide greater reliability, longer life and greater capacity but also cost less to install, operate and maintain. The increased productivity potential lies in a railroad's ability to make use of more communications and signal equipment, with a given manpower requirement, than was possible in former years, especially before the advent of integrated circuits and other solid-state electronics techniques.
