Methods for Evaluating and Treating ASR-Affected Structures: Results of Field Application and Demonstration Projects – Volume II: Details of Field Applications and Analysis
As part of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) alkali-silica reaction (ASR) Development and Deployment Program, nine field trials were conducted across the United States that evaluated mitigation measures applied to concrete structures and pavements already exhibiting ASR-induced distress. The findings from these trials served as the basis for the Volume I report and recommendations. In order to provide a technical underpinning for Volume I and to provide more detailed information on each of the trials (e.g., product types and application rates, treatment methods, monitoring program, etc.), this Volume II report was developed. This document provides detailed information on each of the ASR field trials, including information and data from visual inspections, petrographic evaluations, laboratory testing, and in-situ field monitoring.
