The semi-conductor silec darlistor functions within a range of efficient nominal currents of between 110 A and 315 A, depending on the method of encasement. The blocking voltages extend between 220 V and 1,000 V the opening periods from 15 to 40 ps, and the frequencies of use from 50 Hz to 10,000 Hz. The holding capacity in di/dt is considerably greater than that of the conventional thyristor. These characteristics are particularly suitable in the case of electric traction.
