Who's On Board: 2014 Mobility Attitudes Survey
This document reports on the findings of an online survey of 11,842 U.S. participants regarding attitude toward public transportation and neighborhood choice. Key findings include: attitudes vary more by age than by region; people under age 30 are turning to transit in larger numbers than baby boomers; transit features such as travel time and reliability are more important to people than features such as wi-fi; people offered employee commuting benefits are much more likely to use transit regularly as those without the benefit; personality traits can effect both the type of neighborhood lived in as well as travel choice; mixed-use suburban neighborhoods are the most desired home locations; and the top predictor of transit use is the type of neighborhood where people's homes are located.
