CLASSES NY6 AND NY7 HENSCHEL DIESEL-HYDRAULICS OF 4,600 AND 5,600 HP FOR FREIGHT SERVICES IN PEOPLE'S REPBULIC OF CHINA

Two identical twin-engine designs for heavy freight duties on the standard gauge network of the Peoples Republic are described. One has the MTU MA12V 956 quick running engine and Voith L820 Turbo-transmissions built to 23 tonne axleloads. Extreme climatic conditions and operation in multiple through long tunnels are provided.
