CCTV Monitoring Technology of Nighttime Low-light Situations at the ITS Center in Korea
Mountainous rural road has no lighting facilities unlike urban areas, it is difficult to get a nighttime visibility. To solve this problem, intelligent transportation systems (ITS) center introduced the Infrared floodlights. However, it didn't get the desired video quality, so that the camera lens is not compatible with floodlights. Therefore, installation of streetlights around closed circuit television (CCTV) became necessary. The results obtained through this study are as follows. First, install street lights proper interval of 50m within a reasonable when considering the street lights using time-lapse due to illumination degradation. Second, considering the uniformity ratio of illumination, the street lights installed by equal spacing. Third, select lamp luminaries with good-color rendering.
