Establishment of a New Safe Driving Indicator through the Recognition of Traffic Lights
Many forwarding businesses have being using a tachograph to better educate drivers on “safety” and “fuel economy." Yazaki Energy System Corporation (hereafter called Yazaki) has been developing both analog and digital tachographs in this market and providing cooperation to forwarding businesses. As the digital tachograph becomes more popular, forwarding businesses are making more effort to convert “safety” and “fuel economy” data into a form that employees and drivers can more easily visualize . Needless to say, drivers make an effort to score highly on “safety” and “fuel economy” assessments, but some attempt to do so at the expense of driving safely. Yazaki has developed a new safety indicator, which can now present drive data in a form that anyone can easily understand for better safe driving guidance by combined us e of drive recorders and digital tachographs.
