AUTOMATIC TESTING WILL SIMPLIFY MAINTENANCE OF RAIL TRANSIT VEHICLES
An automatic monitoring system is described which can observe and record in-service performance of rapid-transit cars; if a malfunction is detected, a computer-controlled shop tester performs all operational tests and fault isolation sequences necessary for testing, calibration, and trouble diagnosis.
