INDUCTION HEAT--TREAT SYSTEM INCREASES RAIL LIFE FOR RAILROADS

An automatic semicontinuous electric induction heat testing technique, increases rail life by more than 2 1/2-times that of conventional hot rolled and control cooled track. Only the rail head, which is subject to the abrasive action of wheels, especially on curved sections is hardened.
