DEVELOPMENT OF ELECTRODYNAMIC CAR RETARDER
As methods of calculation do not enable an accurate estimate to be made of the value of the forces to which a vehicle is subjected when entering an electro-dynamic retarder, the authors have transposed the date on to an experimental 1/5th-scale model. The experiments carried out have enabled the retarding strength to be established, as well as the construction of the Takasaki marshalling installations, using curved retarders, was based on the data obtained. In conclusion, the result is shown of experience acquired after six months of use.
