BUREAU VERITAS KEEPS ABREAST OF SHIPBUILDING DEVELOPMENTS
The applied research program of the Paris office of Bureau Veritas is reviewed, with emphasis on computer studies of large tankers, bulk carriers and container ships. This work is undertaken only after the strict determination of an acceptable structural theory. Other investigations cover dredgers, liquefied gas carriers, and automation. The technical consultative service has extended far beyond the normal spheres of classification, and numerous special computer studies are on hand for many clients who may not necessarily class ships with the Society.
