Time for recessed?
Different ways to plow snow were explored in a study by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC). Investigated were viable alternatives to the snowplowable raised pavement marker currently approved, as well as alternative methods and equipment to be used to plow roadways. Steps taken in order to make these investigations included determining the state of practice related to the use of pavement markers in areas that are subject to snowplows, as well as to snowplowing procedures and equipment; evaluating any potential durable and effective pavement marker not disruptive to snowplowing operations; and evaluating non-pavement-damaging alternative snowplowing procedures and equipment.
