SUB DEVELOPED FOR HOSTILE WATERS
This article describes the development of a work submarine to be used at offshore drilling sites. The submarine is self-substained and is designed to operate in deep, remote underwater locations for periods of up to seven days Several uses of the work sub are given, and results of tank tests performed on a hull model are also described. A description is given of field trials that were completed off the coast of Southern Italy, as well as the results of a series of operational tests conducted in Borneo, with the types of work that were completed also included in the description.
