SINGLE POINT MOORING: A NEW SYSTEM

A description is given of a new single point mooring system. The mooring principle of the system is explained, as are the criteria that were established for the system while it was still in the definition stage. The system components are described, including the anchor, the pipeline system, the surface mooring buoy and other associated equipment. An explanation is given of the operational features of the system, and a projection for possible applications and future development of the system are also included.
