Flood & storm damage repairs Hunter Valley June 2007
On Friday 8th of June the Hunter Valley and Central Coast regions experienced an extreme storm event. Torrential rainfall caused subsequent urban and rural flooding, extensive property damage and sadly loss of life. The Australian Rail Track Corporations Hunter Valley railway infrastructure also suffered considerable damage which necessitated the suspension of all train operations. The sterling efforts however of ARTC’s staff, specialist contractors and consultants combined with a whole of coal network coordinated approach allowed the reinstatement of services expediently.
