SEWAGE POLLUTION: SYSTEMS TO CURB WASTE DISPOSAL
Due to legislation aimed at reducing and eventually eliminating overboard discharge from ships, several types of marine sanitation devices have been developed, and several of these devices are described in this article. The descriptions include holding tank systems, and chemical and evaporation/incineration systems among others. A list of manufacturers and distributors of treatment systems for several types of shipboard wastes is included in the article.
