The Road Ahead: County Transportation Funding and Financing

Counties own and maintain 45 percent of public roads and 39 percent of all bridges. Counties face rising project costs and declining state and federal transportation funding. This report looks at examples of financing solutions for roads and bridges at the county level. Three case studies are included.
