INFLUENCE OF DISTRIBUTED GRIT-TYPE ROUGHNESS ON THE SPECTRUM OF WALL PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS OF TURBULENT FLOW IN A TUBE
The results are given from an experimental investigation of the spectral characteristics of turbulent pressure fluctuations as a function of the roughness of the bounding wall. In the experiments the water flow velocity and the relative asperity were varied. The increases in the spectral levels of the wall pressure fluctuations are represented as a function of the dimensionless Strouhal number, and their relationship to the two-layer model of rough-wall turbulence is discussed.
