BRAKING SYSTEMS FOR ELECTRIC ROLLING STOCK

BREMSSCHALTUNGEN FUER ELEKTRISCHE TRIEBFAHRZEUGE

Starting from the principle of the electro-dynamic brake, a description is given of the basic arrangements possible using commutator motors. This is followed by a brief report on the arrangements most commonly used on d.c. and a.c. vehicles. Details are also given of the devices and final control elements required for controlling the braking force.
