CONTINUOUS AUTOMATIC TRAIN CONTROL IN LONG-DISTANCE AND OUTER SUBURBAN TRAFFIC
LINIENZUGBEEINFLUSSUNG IM FERN-UND NAHVERKEHR
Continuous Automatic Train Control of the West German Railroads is described. It governs not only high speeds in the long-distance traffic, but also very close train densities in the outer suburban traffic. Characteristic is the transmission of informations by means of electro-magnetic waves between track and vehicle devices via line conductor loops. Not only proceed and brake informations are transmitted and evaluated on the vehicles, i.e. as orders for the automatic running operation, but also a series of necessary or additional informations.
