GAS-TURBINE PROGRESS ON THE RAILROADS
This article reviews turbo-train developments in Japan, England, France, Germany, the U.S. and Canada. Common to the approach to turbo-train power in each of these countries is the use of modified aircraft gas turbines coupled with mechanical drive. The result has been attainment of the desired light weight ratio and reduction of transmission costs to reasonable proportions.
