UW Inventory of Freight Emissions (WIFE3) Heavy Duty Diesel Vehicle Web Calculator Methodology
This document serves as an overview and technical documentation for the University of Wisconsin Inventory of Freight Emissions (WIFE3) calculator. The WIFE3 web calculator rapidly estimates future heavy duty diesel vehicle (HDDV) roadway emissions for the lower 48 United States states. Truck emissions are estimated using two primary data sources: a set of regional speed-dependent emission factors and an inventory of road-way specific truck travel. Emission factors are from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator (MOVES).
