STUDY ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF BASE COURSE MATERIAL BY USING SEWAGE SLUDGE ASH AND RETURNED CONCRETE

下水汚泥焼却灰および戻りコンクリートを利用した路盤材の開発

With the objective of making effective use of sewage sludge ash (SSA) and returned concrete, the authors have investigated techniques using a mixture of both materials as a base course material. When the base course material is produced by crushing a solidified mixture by mixing SSA as it is with fresh returned concrete, over compaction is generated and the bearing capacity is reduced as the ratio of SSA was increased. This research has shown that if the materials are combined after pulverization or reduction of phosphorus content of the SSA, pulverization decreases the optimum moisture content of the base course material, reduction of phosphorus content contributes to increased strength of the solidified mixture, thus improving compactibility. This in turn, improves the bearing capacity making for optimum efficacy.下水汚泥焼却灰および戻りコンクリートの有効利用を目的として、両者を混合し路盤材として利用する手法を検討した。硬化前の戻りコンクリートに対し焼却灰をそのまま混合し、硬化後に破砕して作製した路盤材は、焼却灰の混合割合を増した場合、突固め時にオーバーコンパクションが発生して支持力が低下する。焼却灰に粉砕処理もしくはリンの低減処理を行ってから混合すれば、粉砕処理は路盤材の最適含水率の低下に、リンの低減処理は強度増加に寄与して締固め性が改善し、支持力の向上に極めて有効であることを示した。
