THE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME OF THE ADVANCED PASSENGER TRAIN
The Advanced Passenger Train (APT) is justified by the value to its passengers of short journey time. Some of the technical problems which inhibit increased speed of railway vehicles, especially those concerned with interaction of vehicle and track, are described in relation to the way in which they are being solved for the APT.
