A Study on Method for the Regional Evaluation of Low-Frequency Public Transport Accessibility
Aging and a decrease in population are advancing simultaneously in many local cities. The increase in public transport demand is expected in the area where aging progresses. However, in the area where population density is low, it is expected that the transport efficiency of public transport falls greatly by a decrease in population. Therefore, it is expected that it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain public transport for local cites. In this study, the authors propose a method to evaluate public transport accessibility using the time-space network in the area which has low frequency public transport. Then, the authors discuss how to improve the public transport accessibility. We hope improving the public transport accessibility will contribute to the improvement of the sustainability of the city.
