A Study on Aerodynamic Drag Reduction of Two-Box Vehicle
This paper uses stochastic analysis to examine the relationship between aerodynamic drag and the vortices behind the vehicle and a relationship between vehicle shape and vortices behind the vehicle. The study shows that there is a vortex ring behind the vehicle and the distance between vortex ring and vehicle′s backward face are related to to aerodynamic drag on the rear of the vehicle.. The result also shows that the vortex tube transforms by vehicle shape and that one of the vortex tube types reduces aerodynamic drag on the rear of the vehicle.
