Maximizing Throughput at Soft Airfields
Soft airfields can only support a limited number of takeoffs and landings before rutting is a significant problem. This document presents calculations to determine the best landing weight for maximum efficiency in soft field operations. A case study demonstrating maximum cargo deliverable by a Boeing C-17A is presented.
