STANDARDIZED ELECTRIC LOCOMOTIVES IN INDIA
During the past ten years, Indian Railways has developed electric locomotives for both a-c and d-c with a high degree of interchangeability of components between designs. For the 25 kv electrification to Ahmedabad, which links with the 1500 d-c Bombay suburban lines, dual current locomotives are needed.
