Applications from a Centralized System of WIM
In this paper, the authors discuss high speed weigh-in-motion (HS-WIM) systems that use advanced methods of electronic sensing and data processing. These systems show sufficient level of precision in the long term to envisage enforcement in normal traffic flow. The authors demonstrate how this equipment assists with new traffic control through applications that include the detection of convoys.
