DELUXE DIESEL-ELECTRIC RAILCARS FOR NEW ZEALAND GOVERNMENT RAILWAYS
The railcar discussed employs a three-phase alternator, direct-coupled to the main diesel engine. The output of the alternator is full-wave rectified by a silicon rectifier, and the resultant d.c. is applied to the traction motor circuit. Specifications of the railcar are given and the traction and control equipment described.
