Settlement Observation and Evaluation of Bridge on Railway Passenger-Dedicated Line in Gale and Gobi Area
Gales are the primary harmful influencing factor in settlement observation of the bridge on the Lanzhou-Xinjiang passenger-dedicated railway. This paper analyzes the special climate condition and geological condition of gale and Gobi area and studies the observation scheme in consideration of observation method and section layout method. The prediction methods of bridge foundation settlement are also discussed. The result shows that in gale and Gobi area, the leveling method should still be the main observation method in bridge settlement monitoring unless the wind reaches above grade 7. The method based on sensors should be selected for areas where gales occur frequently. The stratum of this area is coarse and fine gravel, and the amount of socketed pile observation should be more than 50 percent of the total pier amount. Hyperbola method and index curve method are both high precision methods in settlement fitting. The deformation of bridge in gale and Gobi area after girder erection approaches the stable value, which is small in the shortest time.
