JOINTLESS TRACK CIRCUITS AND THEIR APPLICATION TO ELECTRIFIED RAILWAYS
The elimination of jointed track provides many advantages to the civil and rolling stock engineers but although jointless track circuit techniques have been developed over a decade their universal acceptance by the signal engineer for electrified lines is not yet forthcoming due to problems with interference affecting their unquestionable reliability. Two basic types; voltage-driven and current-driven types are described technically.
