CONCERNING THE ADDED MASS OF CATAMARANS
A two-dimensional problem with regard to determination of the effect of the vibration frequency, the water depth, and the shape of the hull cross section upon the value of the added mass of catamaran models is solved experimentally. The research was conducted on models having three types of hull cross sections, namely a rectangle, a semicircle, and a right triangle, the legs of which are equal to the draft and to the hull width at the water line. Note is taken of some special features characterizing hulls of the catamaran type.
