Application of Preliminary Hazard Analysis in Rapid Transit Systems
Immense construction of rapid transit systems increasingly brought traffic safety into sight and drew much attention of people. Currently, traffic safety management gives heed to post-accident treatment only, rather than study safety in advance. Taking Chengdu-Jianyang Rapid Transit System Phase II as an example, this paper gave insights into safety of the rapid transit system by means of improved preliminary hazard analysis (PHA) and analyzed in detail potential hazards, hazard classification, and causes of triggering accidents and resulting consequences. Results indicated that some sections of the rapid transit system failed to meet the safety requirements and are exposed to hazards, such as the collapse of a bridge, etc.
