Author reviews solutions adopted in various countries as a buildings protection against vibrations propagated through the ground by traffic and evaluates their efficiency. Simplified theoretical study is presented for a project of 11 story building. Author describes also method and experimental setup used to measure dynamic characteristics of insulating devices under high static pressures.
