RAILROAD PROGRESS IN THE TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING OF BULK MATERIALS
In the last decade the railroads have been making tremendous strides in the development of services for the handling of bulk materials, the equipment for handling them, and the efficiency of handling which resulted in lower costs to shippers. Pressure differential cars, giant tank cars and covered hopper cars, high capacity transloaders, and unit trains have led to substantial advances in expeditious, efficient, and economic handling of bulk materials.
