REPRESENTATION OF EXPERIMENTAL DATA ON DETERMINING FLOW LINES ON THE HULL OF A SHIP BY THE METHOD OF INTEGRAL INTERPOLATION
The effect of limitation of the fairway on the position and direction of the hull flow line is studied. The author performed experiments with three-dimensional mathematical models, physical models, and full-scale cargo ships. By integral interpolation he determined the effect on the flow line of the ratio of the depth of the fairway to the draft, the ratio of the width of the fairway to the width of the ship, the ratio of the width of the ship to its draft, the inclination of the fairway, the drift angle of the ship, its speed, and the coefficient of fullness of the hull. Families of flow lines are plotted.
